Miscellaneous Metals, Inc. is a fast-paced steel fabricator and installer serving commercial construction projects across the Washington, D.C. metro area. We specialize in custom stairs, railings, and structural metal systems.
We are seeking a Project Manager with a strong construction foundation to manage projects from contract award through fabrication and field installation. This is a hands-on, in-person role working closely with our Director of Operations, shop, and field teams.
Industry Experience Welcome
Experience in structural or miscellaneous steel is helpful but not required. Candidates with backgrounds in commercial construction, general contracting, or specialty trades (such as concrete, glazing, or millwork) are encouraged to apply.
We will train the right candidate on our fabrication workflow, detailing coordination and the steel installation process.

This position is based in our Walkersville, MD office, with regular travel to job sites throughout the DMV area. Work involves both office coordination and field exposure, including active construction environments.

Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from kickoff through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination
- Lead internal kickoff meetings with estimating, drafting, engineering, shop, and field teams
- Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to establish project requirements and timelines
- Coordinate shop drawings, submittals, approvals, fabrication, and installation
- Track RFIs, change orders, and job costs; identify risks and cost impacts
- Communicate regularly with general contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal teams
- Visit job sites weekly to monitor progress and resolve issues
- Track project phases and adjust schedules as needed to maintain progress
- Support monthly billing, forecasting, and change order tracking
- Manage project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation
- 3+ years of experience in construction project management
- Experience working for a general contractor or specialty trade contractor
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, and change order processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ViewPoint Vista, Bluebeam, or Procore is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local job sites
- Salary: $90,000 – $110,000, depending on experience
